I recently came across your blog and enjoyed reading about Tim’s cycling holiday in Sardinia. I noticed your “Series of tips and articles on cycling holidays” post and wondered if you accept guest contributions at all?
I’m from activityaway.co.uk, which is dedicated to news, ideas and tips for activity holidays.I’d be happy to pitch an idea or take the lead from you if there is a destination/topic you’d like covered?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

My name is Steve Morgan and I am an all-weather cyclist in London and have just been inspired to build a cute little online cycling app to show commuters how much money they could save by cycling to work.
It is simply called the Cycle to Work Calculator ( http://www.cycletoworkcalculator.com ) and it has already proved so popular in that short time that after a couple of prominent Tweeters mentioned it on Twitter my server crashed under the load within hours of launching. I have already had to upgrade the server twice within 7 days to cope with the demand so I have obviously struck a chord with the rest of the cycling community which is fantastic news. http://twitter.com/#!/search/cycletoworkcalculator.com
My hope with the website is that it will encourage more people out of their cars and onto bikes after hearing us smug cyclists bragging to our work colleagues about how many thousands of pounds we have saved each year by cycling to work!
The calculator has also proved popular in America, France and Australia with requests to add more currencies as soon as possible.
After recent articles in the press about the London cycling boom, the Blackfriars Bridge bike vs car debate and, of course, the Tour de France, I hope you find my email hyper-relevant and stimulating enough for your readers!
Hello. I am organising a cycling festival in Swaffham, Norfolk from 1-10 June 2012, including a 100km “Bike around the Brecks” and a world first “Balance Bike World Championships”. If anyone from The Cycling Diaries would like to join in, then please get in touch. Best Regards

My name is Claudia Koch Ley. My husband and I spend half of the year in South Africa and the other half in South West France. We own a beautiful 3-4 star 23 bedroom boutique hotel, Les Magnolias, in Plaisance, a medieval village in the Aveyron South West France, close to the magnificent Tarn river and surrounded by hundreds of kilometers of perfect cycling roads through indigenous oak forests, rivers, mountains and ancient villages. We have recently established a new operation, Cycling Magnolias, offering Casual to Challenging Cycling Holidays in France… encouraging cyclists to come and stay at Les Magnolias and ride our 13 stunning routes, which range from 20 kms to 150 kms. Walking, swimming, tennis and canoeing are also on the activity list in Plaisance.
Cycling Magnolias caters for group or individual cyclists on either a guided itinerary or self-guided basis. Self-guided groups are able to simply stay at Les Magnolias and select their own routes each day, following the beautifully designed and customized maps of each route, highlighting refreshment stops, restaurants and historic attractions. The routes pass 5 of the 23 castles in the Route des Seigneurs du Rouergue as well as World Heritage Site towns such as Albi and villages categorized in the “The Most Beautiful Villages in France” such as Brousse-Le-Chateau and Salvetat Sur Agout. Many of the routes can also be walked since all of the roads are quiet and safe – the local Le Poste van is just about the only passing vehicle on most of the routes.
We are not tour operators and so would be able to let you have a basic price list covering the basic hotel and cycling costs (following vehicle, recovery vehicles, etc).
Please would you have a look at our website http://www.cyclingmagnolias.com and let me know if you would be interested in learning more about Cycling Magnolias and marketing our offering to your clients.
I would love to hear back from you by either email or telephone. I am currently in South Africa and contactable on +27 83 603 4954.
